Hand warmers for a sweet child

I had a idea to knit some fingerless gloves for IB. What was I thinking?! Let's put it this way, when it comes to creating, my efforts end up either ok or very very VERY bad! This is in relation to nearly everything creative including cooking, sewing and KNITTING.

Regardless of this I was determined to give it a go. How hard could sewing a rectangle with rib either ends be? Having no knowledge on how to knit rib was not going to hold me back!
Needless to say it didn't go well. There was a lot of unravelling and starting again, as well as a bit of swearing. ( This is common when I'm creating)

Disappointed in the finale result I presented them to IB saying " I'm sorry sweetie there's a lot of holes in them"
Her response? "I love them, they're perfect!"

So to the expert knitters of the world I say " What do you know? According to my 4 year old gloves are supposed to have air holes!"

Maybe I should try crocheting....

Till next time

At Seven

On the eve of JB 's 7th birthday I thought I would ask him a few questions about himself. The plan is to ask the same questions each birthday to get an insight into his interests, dreams etc and to see if they change or stay the same as he grows.
The idea has come from Lauren at Sparkling Adventures . I admire her close connections with her children as she travels around Australia unschooling and seeking adventure.

So here is the interview!

What do you like?
Soccer, Animals, Hot wheels, Riding my bike.

What don't you like?
Sharks,Volcanoes.

Who are your friends?
Copper, Rocco,Jayden, Jay W and Will and that's all!

Where is your favourite place to be?
At the park kicking the ball.

Where would you like to travel to?
New Zealand, America and Canada cause I can go skiing there.

What would you like to do when you get older?
I would like to be a soccer player.

What the best thing about being 7?
Ok, that's hard....Oh that I get to sit in the car with no booster or anything!

Happy Birthday!

The beginning...

So I finally got the guts to write a blog. At the beginning of the year we all sat down and wrote out our goals for the year and one of mine was to start a blog....well its July and here I am..

So first an explanation of the name. When JB was little (about 3 years old) a lot of stuff was going on that would sometimes get me down, but every night as he went to sleep he would say "It was a good day Mum" and we would share to each other our favourite parts of the day. This small act from him was a constant reminder to be grateful for everyday and make the most of every single minute.

So when JT asked me what I was going to write about, I decided that I would document the events in our life that I am grateful for and I don't want to forget. Maybe I will write about the holidays we go one, the kids ( and maybe my) achievements, significant events in our life and my cooking (disasters!). Not sure how often I will post, we will see what happens!!!

Finally I will sign off with a photo that JT took of us just as I signed up to Blogger.

-See you later!!
