So this week my baby went to school and I will admit it... I shed a couple of tears.
The day came around to ship my beautiful Ivy Grace off to school. She was confident as well as excited while I was apprehensive and sad.
At this stage of my life I must admit that I am not a huge believer in the school system as a whole, I truly believe that there are better ways to educate our kids so that they don't lose their thirst for knowledge, their creativeness and uniqueness, while learning the skills that actually benefit them in the real world. If I could home educate I would but circumstances don't allow this. Rant over...
So off she went, all happy to be there and enthusiastic to catch up with friends that she knew from preschool as well as meeting new ones. When she came home she was exhausted but keen to tell me about her day specifically telling me that she stayed away from the soccer field so that she didn't get hit in the head with the ball ( as per Jay's warning), but did call out to Jay while he was on said soccer field to get his attention! Ah the joys of having your siblings at school with you!
Its a new time in our lives, its has been a long time since I haven't had a child at home with me during the week, one that may take some time to get used to. Good luck Ivy enjoy the changes and keep your quirkiness, uniqueness and loving spirit alive because we all adore you that way!
