Tomatoes, crows and spiders - I'm interested in their colours and how they look but I don't like their fur when the are up very close. I also don't like apartments cause there is no where to go outside and kick the ball.

Rocco, Jayden, and Jay W

Where is your favourite place to be?
On the soccer field.

Where would you like to travel?
France, Antartica and the big rock....Uluru.

What do you want to do when you get older?
Play soccer and maybe, this might be a bit different, draw / write comics for books.

What is the best thing about being 8?
I have a few ones, but I don't know what to choose ....that I am another year older? That I am one step to being an adult, a big life and you can remember all the things you did as a kid.

Happy Birthday my beautiful boy, thanks for putting up with all the crazy stuff me and the girls do around here!
Love you heaps

One year on

It's been twelve months since I started this blog, so here are 5 things I have learnt along the way....

1. I am not very good at writing, and It's not getting any better. I struggle to get words down most of the time, some posts take me three days to write and I'm not even saying that much. English has never been my forte, the only part of English classes I enjoyed was reading the books, not actually writing about them. Sometimes ( often) I wonder why I am doing this!

2. My photographs are not always as professional as I would like, even though I took a course, and I don't have time for photoshop even if I knew how to do that!

3. Sometimes it's hard to focus on the good stuff in life when shit is happening, and the whole idea of this blog is not to record that stuff.

4. Technology can let you down big time.... Especially when your lap top's I, O,U and sometimes F keys don't work, or it shuts down completely mid way through a post. Might need a new computer....

5. I am not going to stop recording life's moments. When Jay asks me why I write this blog or take so many photos I reply " It's so when I'm old, I can remember who you are and what you did" he generally laughs or screws up his nose, but it's the truth. I have just finished reading "Still Alice" and it scares the shit out of me. I already struggle recalling parts of the girls younger years, thank god I have their photo albums tucked away to look at.

So after one year of plodding away on this online journal I have learnt a bit about my capabilities or lack of and how I want to continue the journey. Not sure how the next twelve months will go or what life will bring.... But we will see.

Till next time

21st Birthday Celebrations.

After so much going back and forth with whether or not to have a party, Amber finally set a date to celebrate her 21st. Having the party may have taken some thought, but the theme was easily decided on especially since Amber loves the music and films (maybe not all the clothing styles!) from the 80's.

It was great to have mum, my sister,Jasmine and the little ones around to help celebrate and we tried to dress up to the theme but I think Amber and her friends stole the show, with their 80's formal dresses, crazy mullet wigs, rocker outfits and leg warmers!

The fires and lots of dancing kept everyone warm on one of the coldest weekends so far and the  speeches brought on a few tears. The cake was created by my wonderfully talented sister, contained many iconic items and was ( in the words of Jay...) magnificent!, everyone was lining up to get a piece.

I'm still not sure how I feel about having a 21 year old, but I'm very grateful for having her in my life and all the laughter, chaos and love that she brings every day.

Happy 21st Amber
Lots and Lots of  love

Laura's 17th birthday interview.

My gorgeous, determined, loving, baby girl turned 17!
Here is her birthday interview...

What do you like?
like hanging with my friends, SAO (Sword Art Online), Teen Wolf, family, turtles and cheese.

What don't  you like?
I don't like CABBAGE!!! It is GROSS!!!!

Who inspires you?
There isn't just one person who inspires me really. My friends and family have influenced my actions and beliefs definitely but I don't have a idol or anything that I look up to. I just try to look at what I can accomplish and what I can do to try and achieve my best. I guess you could say people who try to be the best they can be inspire me.

Where is your favourite place to be?
My favourite place to be is in the bush. I love taking Marley (my dog) for walks in the bush. It makes me feel like I'm the only person on earth and I don't have to worry about anything.

Where do you want to travel?
Ever since I was little I have always wanted to go to Canada. I think what started that was I had a substitute teacher who was Canadian. But I also want to go to Italy, France and Japan.

What do you want to do when you get older?
Ok so the major goal/dream is to become a Solicitor and do family law. However, if that does not work out psychology, social work, counselling, mediator, etc. I would really like to work in the area of family law though in some way.

What's the best thing g about being 17?
Hmm. The best thing about turning 17. There isn't really anything. Um well it doesn't feel that different from being 16 but I feel like people would look at me like I'm suppose to be more mature and more responsible.

Love you heaps
