Fleetwood

After 6 months of waiting the day had finally arrived for Amber and I to see Fleetwood Mac at Hope estate.... and it was raining. Not just a little sprinkle but pouring down (so much so that our roof sprung a leak... ). So after a quick trip to Bunnings... not for roof fixing stuff but big black industrial gum boots, we geared up with wet weather jackets and bussed it up the valley for a quick bite before battling the crowds for a good vantage point. Being poor we were part of the huge crowd in the general admission area and it was packed... people where shoulder to shoulder, practically sitting on each other, but somehow, after going for a sticky beak we found ourselves in the perfect spot right on the barrier and as close as we were going to get. All this happened right in time to see Angus and Julia Stone! Yeah, one of Ivy and my favourite bands! They were so good, and so talented... Next was going to be the long awaited Fleetwood Mac... people were swarming around to steal our positions, but I needed a drink and a bathroom visit, so Amber was left to defend our spot! She did well ( she's tough) and very soon after I came back Fleetwood Mac came onto the stage and it started to rain...alot, but that didn't stop the enthusiasm of the band or the crowd. They were AMAZING!! considering their age and personal issues it is unbelievable that not only are they still together but also still rock! The rain continued to fall as they played for 2 hours ending in an encore. We left sludging through the mud (thankful those gum boots!) happy and grateful that we have experienced one of the best bands in history...
